The name Montebrasite comes from its discovery locality Montebras, Creus, France. Montebrasite have as its close relative Amblygonite Triclinic crystal structure. Very rare with crystal of gemstone quality. Only random apperance on gemstonemarkets. Montebrasite was just reacently accepted as its own gemstone (around 2015 and backwards) and before considered to be a varity of Amblygonite without the Na-component it have. It is found in France, Brazil and Burma.
